The school’s learning philosophy centres on inquiry. The act of learning is critical for our growth and development. From the moment we are born we make sense of our world by exploring, testing and evaluating. We learn through experience and our desire to create meaning through that experience. At Footscray Primary School we foster and develop that natural inclination to inquire and ask questions. Over the past few years we have focused on deepening the teachers’ knowledge of the inquiry process and connecting this to the instructional practices that have a high impact on student learning. This has become our instructional model.
